Getting To Know Me + A Few ‘Secrets’

 

OK, OK, I’m ready to share all, well maybe not all, but certainly a few things you didn’t know about me!

6 Things You Didn’t Know About Me:

  1. I’m a fraternal twin. Yep, my brother, Andy, and I were womb-mates from way back.

    I’m the older twin, so with great pleasure I refer to him as my “younger brother” and it still grates on him, even as adults, and as parents ourselves!

  2. I’m qualified as a Naturopath, Nutritionist, Herbalist and Homeopath, and I’m also qualified in the Social Work and Welfare industry. You can see now why I’m such a talker, and love a good chin-wag. I’m also fascinated by humans and love listening to people and their story.

    Prior to working in private practice as a Naturopath in London and Sydney, I worked for a few not-for-profit organisations in Sydney and Melbourne, including The Red Cross where I worked with asylum seekers and refugees. This work developed my people skills ; counselling, negotiation and coaching strategies, which are so ingrained in my language, thoughts and behaviour, that I still draw on this knowledge every single day, in my parenting, relationships and how I work with patients.

    Body Launch, my new 5-week program, combines these two loves and two of my main skill sets; naturopathy and nutrition, and social work and welfare. In this program I teach you core coaching principles and natural stress management techniques, so long into the future you have a truly healthy and abundant mindset when it comes to food, food choices, nourishment, sense of self and you can beat self-sabotage, for good. This is such an important component of long term sustainable weight management.

  3. My all-time favourite Disney character is Ariel from the Little Mermaid. i know every single song from that move, by heart.

  4. I am one of five children. Bang on in the middle. Remember, I’m the older twin so technically I’m the ‘middle child’ ;-)

  5. I completed every stage of ballet, right up to the teacher stage, then I bailed. Yep, I went from being a ballerina to a keen still-water rower, then surf boat rower. Talk about a contrast!

  6. I love coffee. Strong coffee is the best kind of coffee. I teach people about a wholefood diet and balanced approach, and for that reason, I choose to have one coffee a day and savour every single mouthful! Good quality coffee is high in antioxidants so that’s just a bonus! #balancedapproach
