What is a nosode?
A homeopathic nosode is a homeopathic preparation that exposes your body to the frequency of the original disease state.
You can think of a nosode as exposing the body to an energetic imprint of the disease, without risks.
Nosodes are defined by the Food and Drug Administrations’s Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States as homeopathic “attenuations” of pathological organs and/or tissues causative agents, or disease products from infected individuals, such as discharges, excretions, and solutions.
Now, ”attenuate” means to make something weaker. We do that with homeopathics through a process called “potenisation”, which is when the original disease agent is inactivated through a series of repeated dilutions. Each dilution is followed by “succession”, which is shaking/striking it. It dilutes the original solution so none of the original molecules are left, but the energetic frequency is enhanced. It can stimulate an immune system response.
Nosodes can be used to help address symptoms after exposure to a disease/illness, especially when there’s a presenting of “never well since”, or/and to help prevent a disease/illness.
A nosode examples is pertussin (whopping cough).
The proof is in the pudding
Homeoprophylaxis was first documented in 1801 when Samuel Hahnemann described Belladonna for the prevention of Scarlett fever. He realised you could use it as a prophylactic (preventative) as well as to treat scarlett fever. There are many more examples like this that show the effectiveness of homeoprophylaxis.
Spanish flu
The mortality rate of people treated with orthodox medicine for the Spanish flu was 28%. However, those treated by homeopathic physicians had a mortality rate of 1%.
Cuba - Leptospirosis
The largest homeopathic immunisation involved millions of people in Cuba. The Cuban government used homeopathic immunisation for millions of people and have recorded incredible results. In 2007 the Leptospirosis nosode was introduced to combat Leptospirosis, a bacterial disease that occurs in the tropics and can cause flu-like symptoms and can progress to nervous, kidney or liver pathology that results in death in 5-40% of cases. Over 2.5 million Cubans received this nosode. Research shows the total annual incidence was reduced by 84%.
What does this mean?
Nosodes and homeoprophalyxis have been used for hundreds of years and research is showing the effectiveness, safety and affordability of homeopathic nosodes, when they are prescribed, distributed and used, safely.
Please know that this information is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice or a personal prescription. Do not take a homeopathic remedy without consulting a homeopath and/or your health care provider. I cannot recommend a homeopathic medicine including a nosode for you without a consultation with your full case history and medical history. For this reason, it is best to speak to your health practitioner or book an appointment with me.
