The 90/10 Approach

My son, Jack, had a birthday party yesterday and ate a lot of sugar. That’s what happens at parties and it honestly doesn’t both me. (I internally freak out about added colours but I can only control what happens at home!)

I WANT him to enjoy all foods.

I want my kids to enjoy wholefoods and I also them to enjoy soul-foods

My kids totally get that we don’t eat party food at home (unless it’s a party or celebration). On Christmas Day he eats plum pudding and ice cream but on Boxing Day we don’t. It’s pretty simple.

We eat soul-food a few times a week and it keeps us all nourished. You get me? 🍷🍫🙋‍♀️

I often teach the 90/10 approach when we want to achieve health results (even if it’s metabolic support like fat burning or weight management - I never teach deprivation or extreme approaches that aren’t sustainable!) 👇

90% of the time focus on wholefoods
10% of the time focus on soul-foods

And most importantly, when you’re having soul-foods, enjoy every mouthful🤸‍♀️
